Peaceful forest setting in North Vancouver

About Nate

Nate, music therapist, outdoors with guitar

A lifelong dream of healing through music

I've dreamed my entire life of becoming a healer. I always found myself gravitating to people who were hurting, lonely, or outcast, and I naturally sought to help them feel better. That, combined with my love for music drew me to this field where I can help people explore their true selves, supporting them through their own personal journey of growth.

Music has always been a part of my life. I have played piano since I was 4 years old, playing at the grade 9 level in the Royal Conservatory. I completed my first degree in Music from the University of Alberta, with a focus on Voice and Piano, and a minor in Psychology. In 2016, I graduated from my second degree in Music Therapy at Capilano University in North Vancouver.

A wide spectrum of care

My Music Therapy career started in my first practicum with seniors in Youville Residence in Vancouver. I also completed practicums at elementary schools, mental health facilities, and with great honor, my internship at Canuck Place Children's Hospice.

After graduation, I honed my skills working and learning from ET Music Therapy where I worked with children in the wide spectrum of special needs. Through that I am also connected to the Pacific Autism Family Network.

It is through these vast experiences that I am excited to share with you "Sol Music Therapy", my dream. I am so excited to share my passion and skills with people of all ages and walks of life.

A warm space on the hill

My studio is located on a hill in beautiful North Vancouver. The studio overlooks a tranquil garden and is surrounded by lush cedar trees. Come visit in the summer and sit in the sun, taking in the sounds of the wind in the trees, the song of birds, and the stunning view of the city below.

The studio is a warm and inviting space built with love to look like a cabin, with hardwood paneling. The studio features two pianos for a full piano experience as well as an array of instruments I've collected through my travels.
